Annette Sagen made an impact on the world's longest

-I did great, said ski jumper Anette Sagen from Mosjoen, as she made an impact at 174.5 meters after having dipped her bare feet in blue paint. It was during Galleria Art Festival in 2010 that Anette marked her own world record ski jump on what became the world's longest prints - printed by using a tarmac roller. The idea maker and responsible artist for the printing was Olaf Storø. The tarmac roller went a few meters longer and landed at last at 185.5 meters.

Committed people among the audience and festival exhibitors were carried away to participate in the record production. At times it was very good spirits and great joy in Sjøgato, the old town of Mosjoen. It took a couple hour's work in a light drizzle and riding weather, before Anette Sagen planted her footprints on the canvas.

The work was printed on a pre-prepared canvas on a 200 meter roll. It was laid out chipboards on the street in front of the tarmac roller, whereupon it was added as a stencil applied with color. The canvas was laid on top and finally the tarmac roller drove over. The high pressure transferred the color to the canvas.

The idea that layed behind was to create a horizon / lanscape throughout the work.
-Although much was planned in advance, there is lots of uncertainty and many things that can happen, said Olav Storø. You experience a lot of things that are not planned and you get some surprises along the way. Olav Storø is an experienced graphic designer from Kristiansand who lives much of the winter in Longyearbyen on Svalbard, but this is probably the most remarkable he has created.

It was a hope that the work throughout its length should be hung out and sold bricks to the feet, where the profit would go to charity. Poor weather with heavy rain meant that this unfortunately had to be shelved. Some of the audience made ordering through out the process and pointed out sections of the picture for purchase afterwards. In particular, there was great interest in the footprints of Anette Sagen.
-This part will not be cheap, was the artist replies.

Good mood and great atmosphere dominated the two hours the session lasted. There were many, both young and old henchmen who helped with the logistics as one gradually moved up Sjøgao to set the record. Tables and paints, canvas rolls, overlays and chipboards should be moved in step with art production.

- It is very important to continue to play even though you are grown up, said Storø

- But it's certainly something they already know in Mosjoen. There are dozens of positive and playful people here, says the artist.

The world record was duly photographed and filmed and also attended and controlled by two uniformed police officers in terms of registration in the record books.
