Galleria Art festival took place for the first time in 2006. The old tree houses in the historical part of Mosjøen in northern Norway contain stores, galleries, dwellings, restaurants, museum and so on. This environment makes picturesque surroundings for art, artists and spectators.

Galleria Art festival is an artist-run initiative, run by visual artists to present their and others projects. This might approximate a traditional art gallery space in appearance or function, or it may take a markedly different approach, limited only by the artist's themselves.

This is a festival and can not be compared with an exhibition in an ordinary gallery. There is no commission or share of any kind of a prospective sale. Galleria Art Festival take care of all advertising, marketing and publicity. For this we charge a small fee for each work to be exhibited.

With a prospective sale the whole sales amount goes to the artist.

The works can be sold straight from the wall and the artist is free to have a store and put up some new works in the availeble area.


Galleria Art festivals main goals:

• Build connections and swap knowledge and competence

• Exploit the distinctive stamp of the town Mosjøen and give great adventures

• Develop art and culture into business opportunities

• Gain understanding and interest for the cultures significance in society

Galleria uses the slogan ”Norways longest gallery” due to the fact that you have to take your shoes for a walk over a distance of 7-800 meters to watch the exhibitions.
A part of Galleria Art festival is to arrange courses and workshops with interesting presenters and speakers.

We also have a plan for a "Galleria young" pointing at youngsters and kids.

We are happy to accept suggestions in the planning of the art festival for 2012.

Tre Éldar is made by Hulda Hákon, Iceland. The sculpure is located in Mosjøen.
